This stance marks a sharp reversal of the UN Health Service’s initial assessment of the origin of the pandemic. The WHO concluded last year that it was “extremely unlikely” that COVID-19 had spread to people in the laboratory....

Sudbury police have determined that 17-year-old Ashton Desormeaux took the lives of his parents, Brian and Janet Dessormeaux, before killing himself. All three were reportedly fatally shot at their home on Caruso Street in Coniston. Their bodies were discovered the evening of Oct. 30 after a person of interest reportedly broke a window with a propane tank to get in to check on the family. Officers were dispatched to the home at approximately 6:30 pm that evening....

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of London to demand an immediate general election amid the cost of living crisis. The ‘Britain is Broken’ protest, which took place along the Embankment on Saturday afternoon, was organized by the People’s Assembly with the support of Just Stop Oil. Former Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn and former shadow chancellor John McDonnell were among the crowds. Protesters marched in the rain from the Embankment to Trafalgar Square, where a rally was held with speakers including Mick Lynch, the general secretary of the Rail, Shipping and Transport (RMT) Union....

Some of former President Trump’s top political advisers are launching a new Super PAC known as MAGA Inc. which is expected to spend heavily over the next six weeks to support Trump-backed candidates running in November’s midterm elections. Finding new work for these laid-off employees, who are in the country while holding H-1B status, is critical to maintaining their immigration status, the agency further said....

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of “energy terrorism” after Moscow’s repeated attacks on key infrastructure knocked out hundreds of thousands of people. About 450,000 households across Kyiv were without electricity on Friday as blackouts continued across the country, according to the city’s mayor, Vitalii Klitschko. “It’s one and a half times more than the last few days,” Klitschko told Telegram. It follows dire warnings of a cold and difficult winter ahead for those living in the country after weeks of Russian airstrikes and rocket attacks on Ukraine’s power grid....
