If you’re one of the many people who use a Google account to access your devices and apps, you may be familiar with the Smart Lock feature. Smart Lock lets you sign in to your devices and apps using your Google account information, without having to enter your password each time. To use Smart Lock on your Android device, open the Settings app and tap Security. Under “Screen lock,” tap Smart Lock and then enter your Google account information. You can also use voice commands to sign in with your voice. If you’re using a Chromebook or Windows 10 device, you can’t use Smart Lock yet, but that’s changing soon. In the meantime, you can follow these steps to enable Screen lock:
- Open Chrome OS Settings by clicking on the three lines in the top right corner of the screen (or pressing Ctrl+Alt+T).
- Click on “Security” from the list of settings on the left side of the screen.
- Under “Screen lock,” click on “Create new password.” Enter a strong password and make sure it’s different from your Google account password. Click on “Create new password” again to save it.
- Next, click on “Advanced security.” Under “Screen lock type,” select “Password.” Enter your current Chrome OS password into this field and make sure it’s different from your Google account password. Click on OK to save changes. ..
