If you’re like most people, you probably keep your iPhone and other Apple devices connected to the internet through a cellular connection. But if you ever lose or forget your phone, you can still send and receive text messages using Gmail. To do this, you’ll need to create a Gmail account and set up some basic settings. Then, follow these steps to backup your iPhone text messages to Gmail:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the three lines in the top left corner of your screen and select “Create new account.”
- Enter your name and email address into the fields below.
- Click on “Create account.”
- In the “Your Account” section, click on the “Backup my contacts” button under “Account Settings.”
- In the “Backup my contacts” section, enter your phone number into the field below and click on the “Backup now.”
- After the backup has been completed, open up a new window or tab in Gmail and check for any changes that may have occurred since the backup was made. If there are any changes, you’ll need to re-backup your contacts again so that they are updated!
