If you’re like most people, you probably keep your iPhone and other Apple devices connected to the internet through a cellular connection. But if you ever lose or forget your phone, you can still send and receive text messages using Gmail. To do this, you’ll need to create a Gmail account and set up some basic settings. Then, follow these steps to backup your iPhone text messages to Gmail:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of your screen and select “Create new account.”
  3. Enter your name and email address into the fields below.
  4. Click on “Create account.”
  5. In the “Your Account” section, click on the “Backup my contacts” button under “Account Settings.”
  6. In the “Backup my contacts” section, enter your phone number into the field below and click on the “Backup now.”
  7. After the backup has been completed, open up a new window or tab in Gmail and check for any changes that may have occurred since the backup was made. If there are any changes, you’ll need to re-backup your contacts again so that they are updated!
