If you’re like most people, you have a ton of apps installed on your iPhone that you use occasionally but don’t really need. Maybe you have a few games that you play from time to time, or an app that helps you keep track of your finances. But sometimes it can be nice to just close all of those background apps so that your iPhone is more responsive and faster. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Under “General,” tap “Background App Refresh.”
  3. Under “Background App Refresh Options,” turn off “Auto-Refresh.” This will stop all of the background apps from refreshing automatically.
