Copy and paste is one of the most common tasks on social media. Whether you’re replying to a message, copying and pasting a link, or just trying to save time, copy and pasting can be helpful. Here are four tips for copy and pasting on Instagram:
- Use the keyboard shortcuts. On a desktop computer, press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac) to copy text. On an iPhone or iPad, press the Home button and then press Copy (or use the keyboard shortcut). On an Android phone or tablet, press the Menu button and then select Paste.
- Use the clipboard menu. If you want to paste multiple pieces of text at once, open Instagram’s main menu (by pressing either the Home button or Menu button on your phone), select Edit > Paste, and choose what you want to paste from your clipboard: text, images, links, videos… anything! You can also use this menu if you want to delete something that you copied from elsewhere: just select Delete from the Paste menu.
- Use shortcuts for specific apps. If you use a different app to post than Instagram does (like WhatsApp), be sure to check its own copy-and-paste shortcuts! For example: WhatsApp has a shortcut for Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command+V (Mac), while Chrome has Cmd+V (Mac) for copying text and Cmd+A (Windows) for selecting all content in an area of a web page. And if you use Microsoft Word as your main writing tool, it has its own keyboard shortcut for copying text: Ctrl+C/Command+C on Windows PCs and Macs respectively! ..
