If you’re like most people, you probably have an iPhone 6 with a standard SIM card. But if you want to use your phone in a different country or region, you’ll need to insert a SIM card from a different carrier. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the iPhone’s Settings app and select the General tab.
  2. Scroll down and select the Airplane Mode option.
  3. Toggle off the Cellular Data option and then insert your SIM card into the phone’s port (the one that says “COMMAND” on it). The phone should now show an error message saying that it can’t find your SIM card. Ignore this message and continue on to step 4.
  4. Open another app and type in “SIM Card” into the address bar and hit return (or press Home). The iPhone should now show a list of availableSIM cards, with yours at the top. Choose one of them and click on it to insert it into the phone (you may have to hold down both buttons at once). The phone will now start up with your new SIM card in place!
