If you’re like most people, you open files on your iPhone using the Home screen’s three icons: Photos, Videos, and Documents. If you’re like me, you also open files in KMZ format. KMZ stands for “Keyboard Maestro.” It’s a file format that was developed by Apple to store music and other audio files on your iPhone. You can open KMZ files on your iPhone by pressing and holding the Option key while clicking on the File button in the Photos app. If you’re not sure how to open a KMZ file on an iPhone, here’s a quick guide:
- Open the Photos app and click on the File button in the top left corner of the main screen.
- Type “kml” into the text field at the bottom of the file browser and press Enter. The file will be opened in a new window.3) Click on any of the highlighted items to select them and press Delete to remove them from your list of selections.4) Drag any of the highlighted items off of your list into a new folder called “KMZ Files” if they don’t already exist there.5) Click on OK to close out of FileBrowser and return to your main Photos app screen.6) Click on Edit in the top left corner of your main Photos app screen and select “KMZ Files.“7) In the KML editor window that opens, type in all of your music or audio files’ titles (for example, “The Beatles Anthology 1,” “The Beatles Anthology 2,” etc.)8) Click on Edit again to change some details about each file (such as album art or track titles).9) Click OK to close out of KML editor window and return to your main photos app screen.10) Drag any KMZ Files folders onto an empty spot inside of Your Music folder so that they are automatically added when you add music or audio
