WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. With over 1 billion active users, it’s a great way to stay in touch with friends and family. But if you lose your phone or it gets stolen, your WhatsApp account is probably gone for good. Fortunately, there’s a way to recover your account without having to re-create all of your contacts and messages. Here’s how to do it:

  1. First, make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone. If not, go ahead and download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Next, open up WhatsApp and sign in using your existing phone number or Facebook account. If you don’t have an existing WhatsApp account, you can create one by clicking on the “Create New Account” button at the top right corner of the app screen.
  3. Once you’re signed in, click on the “Account” tab at the top left corner of the screen. Under “Settings,” click on “Account Security.” Here, make sure that “Enable Two-Step Verification” is checked and enter your current phone number into both fields (the second field is for backup purposes). Click on “Save Changes.”
  4. Next, go back to your main WhatsApp screen and click on the three lines in the top left corner (known as “Notifications”). Under “Account Settings,” click on “Verification Codes.” You’ll now be able to see a code that was sent to your phone via text message when you set up two-step verification (or backup verification if you opted for that feature). Enter this code into both fields under “Verification Codes” and click on “Save Changes.”
  5. Finally, make sure that all of your notifications are turned off so that you don’t accidentally see any new messages from friends or family while you’re trying to recover your account without old phone numbers! ..
