If you have an iPhone, there’s a good chance that you have used some type of adhesive to keep the screen from coming off. But if you ever want to remove the screen without using any adhesive, here are some tips.
- Start by removing the battery cover. This will allow you to access the screws that hold the phone together.
- Remove the screws that hold the glass front and back of the phone together. Be careful not to damage either part of the phone while doing this.
- Once all of the screws are removed, gently pry apart both sides of the phone using your fingers or a fingernail (if using a fingernail, make sure it is very sharp). You should be able to see two small plastic tabs on either side of where each screw used to be (these are called “bumpers”). These bumpers will now come off easily if they are not glued on in place.
- Now it’s time to remove the LCD screen! First, use a credit card or other sharp object to pry it off in one piece (be careful not to cut yourself). Then use a hairdryer or heat gun on high heat (if using a hairdryer or heat gun, make sure it is set on “high” so that it doesn’t overheat). Be very careful not to damage any parts of your phone while doing this! The screen should now come off easily with just a few gentle taps with your fingers or nails!
