If your iPhone Xr is not starting up or is not responding to touch, there may be a problem with the battery. Before you try to restart the phone, make sure that the battery is fully charged. If the battery is low, you can try one of these methods to restart the phone without going to Settings:

  1. Hold down the power button until the iPhone Xr turns off. Then, hold down the power button again until it turns back on.
  2. Press and hold both volume buttons until you see an “emergency SOS” message onscreen and release both buttons. The emergency SOS message will tell you how to use iTunes if your phone won’t start up normally.
  3. Press and hold down both home buttons for about 10 seconds until you see a “power off” message onscreen and release both buttons. ..
