If you have an iPhone that has been disabled by a computer or iOS update, there are a few ways to restore it to factory settings without iTunes. This guide is for an iPhone 5C or newer.

  1. Open the Settings app and navigate to General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
  2. Select the iPhone 5C or newer from the list of devices and click on Reset.
  3. Enter your Apple ID and password and click on Reset button.
  4. The iPhone will restart and you will see a message asking if you want to continue or finish resetting the device. Click on Continue button to finish resetting the device.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and turn on Find My iPhone. Make sure you’re signed in to the same iCloud account on your computer and iPhone. On your computer, open a web browser and go to icloud. com/find.
