If you have an iPhone 6, there are a few things you can do to turn off the home button.

  1. Open the Settings app and scroll down to the bottom of the screen. There you will find a section called “Privacy.” Under this section, you will find a list of items called “Home Button.” Toggle off the “Home Button” item on this list.
  2. To turn off your home button permanently, open Settings and scroll down to the bottom of the screen again. Under “Privacy,” there will be another list called “System Preferences.” Scroll down and toggle off the “Home Button” item on that list as well.
  3. If you have an iPhone 6 Plus, there is also a setting in System Preferences called “Touch ID.” If you toggle that off, your home button will still work but it won’t be able to be used to unlock your phone.
