Touch actions are a new mechanic in Final Fantasy XIV that allow players to interact with the environment in a more personal way. Touch actions can be used to interact with NPCs, creatures, and items. They can also be used to open chests and find treasure. Touch actions are different from traditional action buttons in that they are located on the bottom of the screen. When touched, they will cause the player’s character to perform an action based on the type of touch action chosen. For example, if you choose a touch action that causes your character to speak, your character will then speak out loud. If you choose a touch action that causes your character to attack, your character will then attack their target. Touch actions can be used multiple times per turn and can be cancelled if the player loses control of their finger or if they hit something else onscreen. The player’s finger cannot move while they are performing a touch action.
