“The fog has moved in from Lake Ontario and is mostly along the lakeshore.  Particularly dense fog is between the lakeshore and the 401 in eastern Scarborough and Pickering.  Fog is expected to move further inland as the evening progresses,” the statement said.
“Visibility can be reduced significantly and suddenly to almost zero.  Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.”
Commuting drivers are told to slow down, watch for taillights ahead and be prepared to stop if visibility is reduced.
Environment Canada issues fog warnings when near-zero visibility in fog is expected or occurs.
