“Winds will pick up on Monday as the cold front swings across the province,” said Christy Gordon, Global BC meteorologist. “Winds are not expected to reach the warning criteria of gusts of around 60-70 km/h.”

Concerns lie with dry and drought-stricken trees that can be toppled by gale-force winds, according to Gordon. “Power outages and danger from falling branches or trees are possible,” Gordon said.
