Granada Reports journalist Emma Sweeney has the latest from the scene. A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death and his mother was seriously injured after a “savage” domestic attack on a house. The incident happened at home at Miles Platting, in north Manchester, around 9:30 pm on Thursday, June 9th. Both victims were taken to hospital with stab wounds, but the boy died about an hour later. His mother, who is around 40, is in stable condition and is supported by specialist officers. A large police presence remains at home in Miles Platting as police officers continue to investigate. The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) says investigations show that the perpetrator is “known to the victims” and that the incident is “domestic”. He is described as an Asian who wore dark clothes at the time. They are around 40 years old and of medium size and medium height. He was last seen walking on Sawley Road shortly after the attack. Anyone who finds him is asked not to approach him and call 999. No arrests have been made. No arrests have been made and the GMP says extensive investigations are ongoing to locate the suspect. The perpetrator is being hunted, who is described as Asian, wearing dark clothes. A large police cordon remains at the scene. Officers from the Major Incidents Team are conducting investigations. One resident said the woman lived in the house with three children. He said: “It was a quiet family and very kind children. “We would see the boy coming and going from school. This is catastrophic. “We could see the paramedics rejuvenating the boy in the hallway and then outside the front door.” Chief Inspector Detective Brennand added: “Last night’s events are nothing short of devastating, as a teenage boy died tragically and a mother mourned in hospital as she was also severely attacked. “We have trained family liaison officers dedicated to supporting her and her family in this incredibly painful time and we are committed to doing everything we can to make sure we bring the perpetrator to justice.”
