AMD Radeon RX 7900 series The third generation RDNA architecture is finally here. The company presents Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards. The former features a full Navi 31 GPU with 12288 stream processors, while the latter is based on a chopped GPU with 10752 cores. The AMD RDNA3 architecture based on a 5nm node is the first chiplet design for consumer Radeon GPUs. The GPU features a compute chip made on a 5nm process with six memory chiplets made on a 6nm node. AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX AMD confirms that the Navi 31 GPU has 58 billion transistors and offers up to 61 TFLOPs of single-precision computing performance. This GPU has a 5.3 TB/s chiplet interface. With a 5nm node, the Navi 31 GPU has 165% more transistor density compared to the Navi 2X. AMD Navi 31 GPU AMD confirms that its new RX 7900 XTX will be up to 1.7 times faster than the RX 6950XT at 4K resolution. The RDNA3 architecture should deliver 54% better performance per watt than RDNA2, according to AMD. The company shares the first performance claims in some popular titles compared to the faster RDNA2 GPU, but unfortunately not without RTX 40: AMD RX 7900 XTX vs RX 6950XT performance Radeon 7900 XTX is the first Radeon card to support DisplayPort 2.1 display interface, offering support up to 8K 165Hz or 4K at 480Hz. AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series Pricing AMD confirms that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX will cost $999 while the RX 7900XT will sell for $899. Both cards will be available on December 13th.
