The actor, known for his role as Aaron Livesy in ITV soap Emmerdale, said viewers would like punishments to be handed down to the former health secretary in retaliation for his handling of the UK’s Covid pandemic. Hancock, the MP for West Suffolk, suspended the Tory whip and faced criticism from across the political divide after choosing to appear on the show while parliament is in session. The actor, appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain to discuss the series, which starts on Sunday, said he expected Hancock to get similar treatment to British DJ and producer Naughty Boy in last year’s series, but for different reasons. Miller, who was crowned Castle King during the 2021 series in Wales, said: “I think he’s just got to accept the fact that it’s going to be everybody’s game. “Last year, unfortunately, Naughty Boy got it for doing the first one [challenge] and he was a lot of fun and then everyone went, “Naughty boy, naughty boy, naughty boy!”. “This year, I think no matter how entertaining he is, [Hancock] we must accept what has been put upon us. I think the audience will say, “That’s what we’re going to put on you.” “And when they’re done with him, they’ll get rid of him, I think,” he added. During the 2021 series, audiences repeatedly voted for music producer Naughty Boy to take part in the series’ “bushtucker auditions”. Asked about his favorites to win this year’s series, Miller replied: “I’d like to think Sue Cleaver, Boy George and Jill Scott. That’s my prediction for the last three.” Ten contestants have been confirmed for the show so far, plus Hancock, who is expected to be one of two surprise entries into the camp in the days following the launch. Miller said the final unannounced name could be former prime minister Boris Johnson. Asked who, he replied: “I can’t tell you that. It’s Boris Johnson!’ Hancock, 44, meets rugby player Mike Tyndall, pop star Boy George and former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood, among others, in the Australian jungle.
