Sian Son-Morri has decorated her Linmead Drive home in time for the arrival of the trick or treating on Monday night. Both the front of the property and the garden have been decorated with cobwebs, skeletons, ghosts and pumpkins for the ultimate horror experience. Sian and her mother will also be dressed in fancy dress to welcome them trick-or-treating and hand out the all-important sweets, before setting off on a themed garden trail. Sian said: “They can go around the garden. All the things almost move or do something and there are parts that can be stepped on and will light up.” It will be Sian’s 8th time transforming her home for Halloween, but previous years have been held at her old address in Springbourne. Sian said: “I love Halloween, I’ve always loved Halloween. I actually volunteer for a ghost hunting company. I’m into everything like that. “It actually started when my husband brought a huge cardboard box into the house that he was going to turn into a casket, and when trick or treating came around, he would jump on it. “That’s how it started, and then it just keeps getting bigger, and it gets bigger every year. Every year we add more stuff to it.” Sian also uses the decorations to raise money for a chosen charity and this year will be raising money for Dorset Mind. He said: “We’ve been doing it for charity for the last four years. Last year I raised money for Children with Cancer UK and the previous two years it was for Dorset Mind. “This year I came back to Dorset Mind just because of the Covid situation – mental health was a huge thing.” Sian also added that a friend, who she used to trick or treat as a child, had killed herself a few years ago. He said the decorations and fundraising for Dorset Mind were in his memory. The decorated house is located at 8 Linmead Drive, BH11 9JE. The evening of Monday October 31st will be open for trick-or-treating.
