In a statement issued late Thursday, the ministry said the investigation “(does not) concern any sexual misconduct, harmful or inappropriate sexual behavior.”
The frigate began a six-month deployment in northern European waters on March 17th as part of NATO’s Reassurance Operation, a deterrent mission to Central and Eastern Europe.
The Navy says it is investigating several incidents that occurred on the ship during a visit to the port in Swinoujscie, Poland.
St.  Croix took over the management of HMCS Halifax in July 2021.
Cmdr.  Paul Mountford is now the ship’s interim captain until he returns to port in mid-July, and St.  Croix will serve in other roles at the Maritime Forces Atlantic Headquarters in Canada until the investigation is completed.
