The municipalities of Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional provide advisory information on water use within the Village of Echo Bay for municipal services.
Due to the oil spill on the river St. Marys, our suction pipe for the water plant has been switched off to prevent possible contamination.
Our Water Tower has been supplying water for several days to serve Echo Bay, but we ask everyone to save water as best they can.
The Ontario Clean Water Service has an emergency plan for transporting water to our plant to ensure we have a water supply until Algoma Public Health can confirm water safety.
This advice will remain valid until the samples confirm water safety and Algoma Public Health removes their advice.
