• For reference, I have a smaller wrist about 6.5 inches in diameter and I’m coming from the Apple Watch Series 7 45mm •

First impressions of the Apple Watch Ultra:

In total

It’s noticeably bigger and blockier than the 45/44mm Apple Watch and I love it 😁 With that comes a really solid feel I enjoy it more with a band that attaches directly to the Ultra vs a strap/band with lugs (Solo Loop vs Alpine Loop) The edge of the flat screen adds to the big feel, but it also provides a wonderful viewing experience – it really draws you in visually It’s remarkably light! The side button is very clicky – much clickier than my Series 7 or any previous Apple Watch The Digital Crown is nicely protected, but takes some getting used to The new Action button is really handy, a great addition!

Alpine loop

Softer inside than I expected The titanium material is extremely light and of course a perfect match for the Ultra Multiple loops ensure a precise fit I love the bright orange color The outer lugs make it a bulkier fit – especially for those with smaller wrists Be careful with the metal clasp as it can scratch things when you rest your wrist on your laptop etc.

Appetizers

The braided watch charging cable is very nice with a metallic accent on the puck itself The Box and Ultra brochure is beautiful The watches really pop on the huge screen The new Wayfinder watch face has neat movement when you lift your wrist to view Rotating the Digital Crown to quickly access the red dark mode is very convenient I also really like the clean fit with Apple’s Solo Loop sports band
