As the snow is about to fall, the price of gas in Vernon has gone up. Wednesday night, the price at the pump was 167.9 cents a liter at most stations in Vernon, with Super Save selling for 165.9. Late in the day, the Petro Canada station on 25th Avenue raised its price to 182.9, with several other stations following Thursday morning. According to gasbuddy.com, as of 2 a.m. Thursday, some gas stations were selling regular gas from 169.9 to 179.98 cents a liter, with the rest pushing the price up to 182.9. In Kelowna, Costco sells for 176.9, while others sell between 182.9 and 189.9 cents. The price at the pump in Penticton ranges from 181.9 to 189.9, with several stations coming in at 183.9. Kamloops motorists unload an average of 187.9, with some stations selling for 185.9. And – despite having significantly higher taxes per liter of fuel – Greater Vancouver drivers pay about 186.9 per liter in most parts of the metropolis. On Vancouver Island, Victorian drivers pay the highest fuel prices in B.C., at 193.9 cents a litre. Meanwhile, in Calgary, motorists are filling up at 153.9 cents per litre.
