Someone tried to get through security at Los Angeles International Airport with candy bags containing about 12,000 fentanyl pills early Wednesday morning. The opioid pills contained packages of Skittles, Whoppers and SweeTarts. The drugs were seized by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and FBI agents assigned to an airport task force. The suspect managed to run away but was identified. The bust has sparked fresh calls for parents to be careful this Halloween about the candy their children bring home.
