Rob Gibson A Kelowna man who lives at the intersection of Gordon Drive and Cameron Avenue shared a video of a crash caught on his security camera. Samer Shehadeh tells Castanet that the crash happened just before 5pm on Saturday, October 29. “We heard it as it happened, the whole house shook and then I checked the cameras and saw that we got it on camera,” says Shehadeh. After hearing the crash and checking to see what had happened, he went to the opposite side to see if he could help and had a conversation with the officer at the scene. “(The driver) was going too fast. They went through a red light. They hit the sign and the traffic light. They both went down. And basically what they told me was, anyone crossing the street or at the bus stop waiting for a bus, I would have die instantly.” “I went across the street and talked to the constable and showed the video and he was very happy because it shows the guy running the red light,” Shehadeh said. Shehadeh says the vehicle came to rest between a tree and the fence, he did not know the condition of the driver, but said he believed there was only one person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
