Hamlyn was last seen at his home on Imogene Crescent in Paradise on June 16, 2018. He was preparing for a gathering with friends later that evening but disappeared without a trace. From the beginning, family members knew something was wrong and created a Facebook page to gather whatever information was available to point them and investigators in the right direction.
RNC Constable James Cadigan confirmed today that Hamlyn’s remains were found by a man walking his dog in the area on Monday morning.
The location, although somewhat isolated, is only a ten minute drive from where Hamlyn was last seen. Police say the cause of death has not yet been determined.
BREAKING || The RNC confirms that the remains discovered this week near Three Island Pond in Paradise are those of 33-year-old Trevor “Pepsi” Hamlyn, who has been missing since June 2018. The cause of death has not yet been determined. @VOCMNEWS — Brian Callahan (@briancallahan67) November 2, 2022 Trevor Hamlyn’s sister Ashley posted on the Help find Trevor Hamlyn group soon after the news was confirmed. She says after four years, the family finally has the closure they need. Ashley says they don’t have details on how Trevor died, but says “for now it’s okay” as they finally put him to rest and “say goodbye the right way.” Hamlyn will be laid to rest next to his father in Grand Falls-Windsor. The family is accepting donations to help cover funeral expenses. Donations in excess of funeral costs will go to Rovers Ground Search and Rescue. On behalf of the family, she thanked everyone who shared, commented or followed their Facebook group, as well as the many family and friends who stood by them throughout the ordeal.
