The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed a 17 kilometer section of the eastbound lanes of the highway. Investigators and reconstructionists are on the scene. In a tweet at 11:19 a.m. on Monday, the OPP said officers were at the scene of the crash west of Trussler Road near Ayr, Ont. All eastbound traffic is being rerouted to Oxford Road 29 with a detour to Cedar Creek Road. In an update at 1:57 p.m., the OPP said two people were pronounced dead and another was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Four other people were taken to hospital with serious and minor injuries.
