Hydro One is warning customers of possible power outages in northern, central and southern Ontario as damaging winds and freezing rain are expected to move through some areas tomorrow. In the event of an outage, Hydro One will assess the damage and determine the recovery time for each incident. For more information, read the news release below: Hydro One is urging customers in northern, central and southern Ontario to prepare for possible power outages as potentially damaging winds and/or freezing rain are expected to move through the regions tomorrow. Here are some items to remember to include in an emergency kit:

Water and non-perishable food for all family members, including pets A manual can opener Flashlight and clip-on or battery-operated radio Extra batteries Cash First aid kit and medical supplies Blankets Emergency numbers, including the Hydro One emergency line, 1-800-434-1235 Fully charged cell phone or have at least one corded phone at home. a cordless phone will not work in the event of a power outage

If outages occur, an estimated recovery time will be determined for each incident after the damage has been assessed. Customers can report their outage by texting 92887 (WATTS), through the company’s outage map and app, or by calling 1-800-434-1235. Our outage tools will be updated every 10 minutes as information comes in from crews on the ground.

We also want to remind the public to stay away from any downed power lines. If you spot a downed line, keep at least 10 meters back, even if it doesn’t appear to be live. Report it to 911 and call Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235.
