A court has found Hedley frontman guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in Ottawa last Sunday.
Hoggard was acquitted of the same offense against a teenage fan.
The 37-year-old musician had pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm – one related to each complainant – and one count of sexual assault, which alleges sexual intercourse with persons under 16 years of age.
During the trial, prosecutors allege that Hoggard repeatedly raped the two complainants in separate incidents in the fall of 2016. They also claimed that he grunted the teenager after a Handley concert in April 2016, when she was 15 years old.
The defense argued that the palpation never took place and that Hoggard had consensual sex with each of the complainants.
His sentence is set for October 6.
