There was a strange incident at the Laver Cup when a protester managed to enter the O2 Arena pitch and set himself on fire. Spectators in the crowd took to social media to note that a man brought a flare onto the pitch and lit a small fire, setting his hand on fire in the process – seemingly by accident. Security was quick to put out the fire and remove him from the field. One member of staff took off his jacket and stepped on the fire to put out the flames before several people dragged the man away. The protester in question was wearing a t-shirt that read ‘End UK private jets’. Tsitsipas was then seen asking the referee if the pitch was OK to use. Court officials poured water on the affected area and wiped it with towels. JUST IN: Rafael Nadal can follow Roger Federer in Laver Cup rule change
