His eyes light up. 77 min: Zaha is replaced by Mateta. 76th minute: Castaje crosses from the right. Neither Barnes nor Vardy can connect and send the ball towards goal. 75 mins: The players at King Power are pretty skeptical at the moment. One point won’t do much to lift spirits. Can the hosts find the winner they – and their manager – desperately need? 73 min: Amartey’s weak full-back is almost beaten by Ayew, but Danny Ward spots the danger and runs to clear it. Some disturbance. 72 min: Vardy, driving down the middle left channel, dismisses Andersen with great ease. He looks to jump into the Palace box only to run the ball out for a kick. 71 min: Castaje crosses from the right for Maddison, who makes a tackle and then shoots into the top right from 12 yards. Guaita does very well to sustain a tough effort. 69 min: Vardy’s presence wins Leicester a corner on the right. Madison comes to get. Ayew heads clear. 68 mins: Faes hanging on too much in the middle. Maddison almost latches on to the pass on the edge of the Palace box, but Guaita comes out to claim. 66′: Leicester make a double change, sending on Vardy and Mendy for Daka and Soumare. Meanwhile, the Palace trades Edouard for Olise. 64 mins: Palace at it again, Edouard buzzes down the left channel and fires a shot down the left. Danny Ward does well to turn behind the post, and nothing comes from the corner. 63 min: Zaha dribbles from left to right in the Leicester area. He’s never quite in control, but he doesn’t let it go either. Finally he arranges his legs to make a dig. The shot is blocked. 61 min: Leicester up the tempo again. Justin curls into a packed box from the left and the ball somehow eludes everyone, bouncing to the right for a goal kick. 60 mins: Daka fires a hard cross into the Palace six-yard box from a tight angle on the left. Palace clears its lines, though it’s more by luck than judgment. 59 min: Faes grabs the ball from Edward and clears Maddison in the middle. It is not entirely certain that Guaita had this covered. 58 mins: … having said that, Soumare picks it up a bit, driving down the middle and slips a ball to the right for Castagne, who slaps a shot into the bottom right. Easy for Guaita. 57 min: Leicester’s pace dropped a bit. 55 min: Double change from Palace as Mitchell and Ducouret make way for Riedewald and Milivojevic. 53 min: Andersen takes a long-range free-kick to the left for Mitchell, who takes a touch past Amartey and into the Leicester box. However, he can’t find a team-mate with his low cross. Too bad, because this was a very simple but visually pleasing move. 52 mins: Barnes and Daka go one-two down the inside-left channel. Barnes is in! But he takes a heavy touch that allows Guaita to choke at his feet. Surely VAR would have disallowed any goal for offside, but that’s all academic. 51 min: … Justin fires a shot from miles over the bar. 50 min: Maddison’s corner goes over the top of Andersen’s tangled noggin. He’ll take another, this time from the right. From this too… 49 min: Leicester have started the second half brightly. Castani barrels down the right but Daka can’t control his cross. They try again down the left, Dewsbury-Hall winning a corner which Maddison takes. 47 min: Leicester come quickly again, Barnes sent to score down the left by Dewsbury-Hall. He gets to the byline and cuts back to Maddison, who leans back and dives right through the box. He really should have worked Guaita at least. Daka drives low and hard down the right, forcing Guaita to turn the ball around the post. The flag is then raised belatedly for offside. Leicester get the ball again. No change from either side. Half time entertainment. Hot off the press, it’s Wilson!

HALF TIME: Leicester City 0-0 Crystal Palace

The free kick is a non-event, and that is a fitting end to the half. A few outbursts of discontent as the teams return to the tunnel. 45 min +1: The first of two added minutes sees Doucoure booked for a late slide at Dewsbury-Hall. A free kick 35 yards out. Madison will turn it up with everyone lined up on the edge of the Palace box. 45 mins: Dewsbury-Hall pings a diagonal pass to Castagne, just inside the Palace box on the right. Photo: Molly Darlington/Action Images/Reuters Updated at 13.28 BST 43 mins: Some space for Eze, 25 yards out. He takes a rising shot to the upper right. Danny Ward crossed fingers… or did he? The referee – who earlier in the Palace drive had deftly and gymnastically thrust his body into the air to get out of the way of a pass (6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0) – kicks a goal. Updated at 1.16pm BST 41 mins: Guaita comes through a packed box and punches clear. Madison to take. 38 min: Andersen sprays a long cross towards Heze on the left. Eze cuts upfield and tries to release Edouard down the middle, but he overcooks the pass, which goes to Danny Ward. It’s not clicking in the final third for either team.
