More than two years after the pandemic, North Korea finally admits it has a COVID problem – and it could be terrible. As of May, North Korea’s secret government says more than three million people have contracted “fever” and hundreds of thousands have confirmed COVID cases. Without vaccines and only a few have access to medical care, the epidemic could already be out of control. First-hand information is difficult to find because access to the country is almost impossible. We are trying to find out what is really going on inside the most isolated nation on earth, in the midst of a pandemic.
