A 39-year-old man has died after a botched parachute landing in Victoriaville, Que., about 150 kilometers northeast of Montreal. Provincial police spokeswoman Sgt. Catherine Bernard says police were called to the scene near the city’s airport around noon Saturday. He says it appears the man hit a pole while trying to land. Bernard says he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. He says a provincial police investigator and crime scene technicians are at the scene to determine what happened. But he says it’s too early to tell if a crime was committed.
