According to Mike Tindall, wife of Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Phillips, who were both in the royal box at the event, she revealed that the family was rather desperate to leave by the end of the party. The former England rugby player and his wife had attended many events throughout the busy weekend, including the Epsom Derby and the St Pauls Thanksgiving. The 43-year-old King spoke about the weekend on the podcast of The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, with James Haskell, Alex Payne and Zinzan Brooke. Mr. Tindall was asked about the events that followed the Competition and said that the Royals wanted to “leave as soon as possible”. One of the presenters on the podcast asked if the family members drank a cup of tea to look at the various things that happened over the weekend in a kind of “revelation”. Mike said: “No, it really did not exist. After the Competition, the main thing was to try to get out as fast as you could. “There was more; after the concert, we all chatted together because we went inside and had a drink afterwards, but not really after the Competition.” He added: “I think everyone was very happy and I think the committee that put it together did an incredible job.” Zara and Mike sat behind the Cambridges in the Competition and next to them were politicians like Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan. It’s been a long time coming, but as all parents know, you’re just doing what it takes. “Louis, he just wanted to have fun. Both of me [daughters, Mia and Lena] is always naughty, so try to keep a lid. “There were a lot of sweets back then, so there was really high sugar.”
