The driver fled a traffic stop at about 7:10 p.m., the Ottawa Police Service said on Twitter, injuring the officer. Earlier in the evening, police said they had closed Brian Coburn Avenue between Tenth Line Road and Strasburg Street, advising the public to stay away. Resident Victor Hanna’s deck overlooks the avenue. Noticing police lights coming past his windows, Hannah went to take a look. On the road ahead, he saw a police cruiser behind an SUV, with a line of cars standing still.
