Rainfall totals of 40 to 60 mm are expected in some areas with the highest amounts falling in areas from Sault Ste. Marie to Elliot Lake and north to Chapleau and Lake Superior Provincial Park. This heavy rainfall is due to a low pressure system that will track northeast across the region today. Heavy rainfall can cause flash flooding and pooling of water on roads.
