“Hudson Valley residents are feeling pain at the pump and at the grocery store, what have you done and what do you plan to do to help solve our inflation problem?” Maloney was asked. “Yeah, well, I grew up in a family where, you know, if the price of gas went up, the food budget went down,” Rep. Maloney said. “So at this time of the week, we’d be eating Chef Boyardee if the budget didn’t change. That’s what families have to do. Here’s what we have to do,” Maloney said before discussing actions he says would cut back. inflation. “We’re limiting the out-of-pocket costs of seniors in the Medicare program. That’s a big deal. So now, only two thousand dollars a year will come out of pocket, rain or shine,” Maloney said. “This allows seniors to budget. We’re also finally negotiating in the Medicare program with the big prescription drug companies to lower everyone’s prescription drug costs. This is long overdue.” DCCC SPENDS $600,000 ON ADS DEFENDING REPRESENTATIVE LEADER PATRICK MALONEY Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, who heads the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, feels his party has a “likability problem.” (Jacquelyn Martin/Pool via Reuters) Maloney made the comments during an interview with Halston Media Productions, published on October 27. Maloney also said that “we’ve released 90 million barrels from the strategic oil reserve, that’s taken about $1.30 off the price of a gallon of natural gas. That’s a big help.” “We need to do more to keep that price from going up again and keep going down. And there are other things we can do. We can absolutely lower health insurance premiums for those on the Affordable Care Act. We’ve done that ” he added. “We can pay for these things, by the way, with a tax on big corporations, so eventually they’ll pay what they owe. We finally did it.” When discussing energy, Maloney said “we can increase energy production, particularly renewable energy, so that there is more supply, which lowers prices.” “This is part of the strategy of the law to reduce inflation. And all of these strategies together – together with overpricing, by the way, because these big oil companies are making a fortune from Putin’s war and the rest. they have to make sure people don’t profit from war. All of these strategies together can help lower prices,” Maloney said. Responding to a request for comment, a representative for Maloney told Fox News Digital that it is “shameful” for Mike Lawler, his opponent who shared an excerpt of the remarks on Twitter, to “make light” of the struggles families face. DCCC CHAIR MALONEY DEFENDS TRUMP’S GIBBS BOOST, SAYS ‘WE WILL WIN THIS FIGHT’ Rep. Mike Lawler, Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District, speaks at a news conference at the Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains, October 12, 2022. (Reuters) “Unlike Lawler, who benefits from his own campaign and has lobbied banks for big oil companies, Rep. Maloney understands what families go through. In the interview, Rep. Maloney describes his own childhood , on a tight weekly budget for a family of 8, and explains the steps he’s taken to cut costs, including lowering prescription drug costs, increasing energy production and holding companies accountable for price increases.” the spokesman explained. Lawler told Fox News Digital that Maloney’s response shows he is out of touch with the struggles of working families. “Sean Maloney’s solution to inflation is: let them eat Chef Boyardee!” Lawler said. “It shows how irrelevant his work is [sic] the struggles of the elderly, working families and those who need help. Voters understand that the only way to fix this is to fire the very politicians who created this mess in the first place, which is why Sean Maloney will lose on Election Day!” Mia Ehrenberg, Maloney’s communications director, said on Twitter that Lawler’s video was “horribly out of context” and questioned why he opposes the CCA.
