Top Russian diplomat Andrei Kelin has warned that the UK is “too deep” with its involvement in the Ukraine war and accused Britain of orchestrating an attack on Vladimir Putin’s warships that caused significant losses to Moscow in the Black Sea. The Russian ambassador to the UK said that officials in the Kremlin “are fully aware of (the) involvement of British specialists in (the) training, preparation and execution of violence against Russian infrastructure and the Russian fleet in the Black Sea”. interview on Sky News. Mr Kelin said he has proof that the Royal Navy assisted in the drone attack on the Russian Black Sea fleet last week. Moscow has previously blamed the UK for the attack, as well as an attack on gas pipelines between Russia and Europe last month. Britain’s Ministry of Defense rejected the claims, saying Russia was “peddling false claims on an epic scale”. Russian commanders “leave Kherson and leave behind poorly equipped troops”
Russian commanders in Kherson are likely to walk away from the war, leaving underequipped and “disenchanted” troops to deal with growing Ukrainian fighting, Western officials said. While more of Vladimir Putin’s troops were arriving in an apparent bid to shore up their defensive positions in the key city, officials said many were newly mobilized reservists who were often “unfortunately equipped and prepared.” “In Kherson, it is likely that most echelons of command have now withdrawn across the river leaving demoralized and leaderless men to face Ukrainian attacks. Moscow warns Britain is ‘too deep’ in Ukraine conflict
Russia has warned the British to risk a “dangerous” escalation in the ongoing war in Ukraine, as it accused Britain of being dragged “too deep” into the conflict. Andrei Kelin, Russia’s ambassador to the UK, claimed British “experts” were involved in a daring drone attack on Russia’s Black Sea fleet at the weekend in which three warships were reportedly damaged, including the flagship HMS Makarov . After Britain’s ambassador to Moscow, Deborah Bronnert, was earlier summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry over the allegations, Mr Kelin said the Kremlin would release its evidence “very soon”.
