New Island Red Pine natural population island and Bank Swallow were added to the endangered species list. Five other species have been identified as vulnerable, including the Evening Grosbeak, the Red-necked Phalarope, the tiny Mummichog, a brackish coastal fish, the Yellow-Banded Bumble Bee and the Transverse Lady Beetle. Two species, Red Crossbill percna and Mackenzie’s Sweetvetch – a rare plant that only grows in two areas on the Port au Port peninsula – have been listed as endangered.
