Most of North Texas is under an enhanced threat for Friday with several strong and intense storms. Surrounding areas are at low risk with scattered severe thunderstorms possible. Storm Prediction Center (SPC) Outlook The storm system will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening with the highest severe threat to areas along and east of the Interstate 35 corridor. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or more, large hail, the size of a quarter or larger, and even a possible tornado or two. Locally heavy rainfall may cause flooding in some areas. Storms will begin to develop around noon and continue into the early evening.
