The win means the Tigers are now in prime position to win the SEC West, while Alabama’s playoff chances are suddenly on life support The previous major SEC game of the day went Georgia’s way — by a lot. The third-ranked defending national champion Bulldogs pushed No. 1 Tennessee to a 27-13 victory in Athens. In addition to the important statement, the Bulldogs also gave themselves the inside track to win the SEC East once again. It looks like Georgia and LSU are on a collision course for the SEC title game. Another top-ranked team, No. 4 Clemson, was upset 35-14 by unranked Notre Dame. This will do a lot of damage to Clemson’s playoff hopes.
