Police say they responded to reports of an incident that allegedly took place at Willows Playground around 4:17 p.m. at the southern tip of the city west of Calgary. “A young man told his parents that while they were at the playground they saw a child getting up from the sidewalk and being placed in the back seat of a vehicle. The witness’s parents then contacted the police,” the RCMP said in a statement. The Cochrane RCMP says the victim is about 10 years old and was dressed in blue. No sex provided. Officials say the child was placed inside a newer model, a dark blue Jeep Cherokee driven by a man. Described as shaved and wearing a CAT baseball cap with yellow letters. While researchers are concerned about the child’s well-being, they are also wary that the incident may be a misunderstanding. Meanwhile, police are continuing the investigation. Researchers are searching the area for additional witnesses and videos, and are asking anyone who may have video from a camcorder dash or video from a home security camera in the Willow Green and Willow Way area on June 9, 2022 between 3:30 p.m. and 4.30pm to contact Cochrane RCMP. “ You can reach the posting by calling 403-851-8000.
