Former President Trump’s inner circle is discussing announcing the launch of the 2024 presidential campaign on Nov. 14 — with the official announcement likely to be followed by a multi-day series of political events, according to three sources familiar with the sensitive discussions. Why it matters: Trump and his top advisers have been signaling for weeks that a 2024 announcement is imminent. But those talks have reached the point where allies are blocking off days on their calendars for the week after the midterm elections — and preparing to travel. What we’re hearing: With polls pointing to a good night for Republicans on Tuesday, Trump plans to ride on the GOP’s expected post-midterm euphoria to build momentum in his own bid to recapture the White House.

Look for Trump to take credit for Republican victories across the spectrum — including those he promoted with his endorsements and even those he had nothing to do with.

Between the lines: Trump has long planned to announce shortly after the midterms — and even toyed with announcements before Nov. 8 — in an effort to get ahead of potential rivals for the 2024 GOP nomination, including then-Gov. Florida Ron DeSandis.

In recent weeks, Trump has moved closer and closer to saying he’s running, enjoying applause as he hints to his rally crowds that he’s doing so. At his rally Thursday in Sioux City, Iowa, Trump said: “To make our country successful and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very likely do it again… Get ready that’s all I’m saying — very soon. Get ready.” A Trump spokesman declined to comment. The debates are still fluid and could change depending on Tuesday’s results, especially if the Senate remains hung and the Georgia race between Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock goes to a runoff.

Reality check: It’s Trump. So anything could happen — or not. It has a scheduling conflict and nothing is ever certain. But people who have been close to him for many years are fighting for the next fight. Go deeper: A radical plan for Trump’s second term
