Six people are believed to have been on board when it capsized on Lake Roadford in Lewdown, Okehampton on Wednesday afternoon. Four people were rescued and two were taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment. One has been discharged, but the other remains in hospital in critical condition, Devon and Cornwall police said. The other two were checked and taken by ambulance to the scene. Police said they located and retrieved the bodies during a “large-scale search” on Lake Roadford, near Okehampton. Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Dan Evans said: “This is an extremely painful incident and our thoughts are with all those involved and their loved ones, with whom we work closely together to offer help and support where we can. “Tragically, we can confirm that the bodies of two people were located and retrieved this afternoon. “Our priority is to support their families.” The Maritime Accident Investigation Department’s website’s website gov.uk reported earlier that two people with disabilities are missing. The families of the two people who were ignored have been informed of the developments and are supported by specially trained officers. Investigators believe all of these people on the boat were natives of Devon.
