US President Joe Biden will visit communications firm Viasat Inc on Friday, days before crucial midterm elections, to tout his party’s push to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce reliance on foreign semiconductors, the White House. Biden’s visit, the latest in a series of trips to advanced manufacturing facilities across the United States, is aimed at bolstering support for Democrats, who are in real danger of losing their slim majority in the US Congress. Biden will praise “the resurgence of American industry” enabled by the passage of three key pieces of his signature legislation – the Chips and Science Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act and the Lower Inflation Act, the White House said in preview his visit.
