Northamptonshire Police issued a statement at 5:20 p.m. today (Friday) saying they were called to Towcester Street in Far Cotton. Officials said several roads between Mereway and Gloucester Avenue were closed and the incident was ongoing.

A police spokesman said: “Northands police are currently investigating an incident in the area of Towcester Street, which has closed the roads between Mereway and Gloucester Avenue. Avoid the area if possible. Thank you for understanding.” Chronicle and Echo took the stage at 7:30 p.m. and saw police still blocking the road from the Gloucester intersection at the Tesco Extra roundabout, with police searching the area next to the Towcester Road Cemetery. The Chronicle and Echo contacted Northamptonshire Police for information. More will come as and when we receive it.
